Blog update!

A heads up for y'all, I'm changing up my posting schedule! I've been doing M, T, W, F for most of 2015, but I'm dropping it down to just M, W, F. I did that after Henry was born, and had planned to do it after Otto arrived too, but here's some truth: I'm getting burned out on blogging. And a burned out preggo blogger is no bueno.

It's like the more you know, and the more tools you have to promote your posts, the more exhausting it becomes. I have a list of 15 blog posts I wanted to get done pre-Otto to have a "bank" of content to pull from on those inevitable days when I've been up all night and don't have it in me to create something. I've gotten exactly 3 done.

I'm spending all my time just keeping up with my current editorial calendar. I'm super pregnant. I'm tired. I *know* I need to work ahead, but by Tuesday I'm nearly completely done with the internet. Lies! Not nearly. Completely. Like, done done. So I'm going to give myself a little grace and drop my posts to 3 times a week to save my pregnant sanity. Holler if you hear me on that, fellow bloggers!

In fact, I stepped {almost} completely away from social media this weekend and already feel like a million bucks! Sometimes this stuff is just so draining - keeping up with notifications, "like counting" and so on. I should know this. I've been here before.

Ahhh well. Pregnancy brain?

Time to get some more things done for this baby that's set to arrive soon! He probably needs more than just the four pairs of winter pajamas I've bought him... And haven't even washed yet, right?

Catch you cats back here on Wednesday with some freshyfresh content.

  1. You do you, lady! We will all be here for your posts and if you can't post, we'll be here when you can. Don't let blogging stress you out! I do have to agree about feeling recharged when you step away from social media, it is nice just LIVING life instead of telling everyone about it. Hope your new schedule helps you feel less stressed, you've got this MAMA! <3

  2. I think this is a good plan! I'm gearing up for another writing schedule to pump out book #2. I stopped blogging all but one day a week when I was working on the first one. I'm foolishly going to try to still post 5-6 days a week this time around, but I think I might be setting myself up for failure haha

  9. You're so busy with a little one and another on the way...I think it's a great idea to reevaluate your schedule. And if you're getting a bit burned out now, this may help you revive!

  10. I already feel the pressure off by changing my schedule. And girl - you DEFINITELY need some extra time. You've got a little one on the way and one already keeping you busy! I seriously don't know how you do it all.

  11. Amen! I can't even get a Monday post out most of the time because our weekends are so jam packed. Case in point today, no post. And I think getting ahead for when baby comes is a great idea and going down to 3 days a week will help you with that. We all get burnt out on blogging and all the things that come with it. Take time for you and Henry and enjoy these last few weeks as a family of 3!

  12. Hang in there! I've always said that when it stops being fun it's time to re-evaulate. Hang in there and get some rest!

  13. I completely understand this need! Sometimes it is a rush to get posts completed and things scheduled, and with you having a new baby things are going to get crazier! Take time and recharge your batteries! Get re-inspired with the extra time!

  14. sorry to hear you're burning out girl. definitely cut back, burning and out and it feeling like a chore sounds horrible.
i love blogging, but it's way more of a hobby than a job or source of income for me.. i think it would stress me out way too much and i would get burned out easily. this way, i get to talk about books and gifs and other meaningless stuff, but i'm having fun.
