This year, I've decided to focus a bit more on the "fall" and less on the guts and gore-awesomeness that is Halloween. At least, until the end of September. Then I make no promises.
Anyway, I was trolling Pinterest over the past week for some fun fall craft ideas. I've always been crafty, and since I now stay at home, I plan on busting out some DIY magic to get our home ready for the season change (I'm just going to ignore that it's currently 104 outside...)
Here are some of my favorite fall-themed craft ideas I want to implement this year:
I like how the leaves make this fall wreath slightly less formal |
This would work with gourds or pumpkins, and I love how the nuts adds texture |
I love the idea of working with berries... But I also know that mold is a legit concern! |
I like the mix of glass and wood, and the variety of colors used here. |

You crack me up! "Trolling" pinterest... haha! I know how that goes.
ReplyDeleteAlso, my coworker at work LOVES halloween - she's just like you. She already planned out her outfit. I never know what to dress up as until the very last minute!
I mean, trolling is pretty much exactly what we do on pinterest... :) I'm the same way with MY costume, but I plan all my boys' costumes for months!
DeleteI'm planning to make a embroidery hoop wreath for our door! I cannot WAIT to do it. I don't think it will be too difficult, and I know it will look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love what you've come up with. Can't wait to see how you pull it together.
Ohhhh, make sure you put pics on the social media interwebs so I can see what your wreath looks like! Sounds fun :)
DeleteYou and me both! I love love love fall. Thanksgiving (at least in Canada is in October), the weather and the food. It's just the best season. You're decorations are inspiring. I would love to do something with tiny pumpkins and last year I saw this Martha Stewart thing where she painted them white and gold. I thought it looked pretty cool so I might attempt that although like you said, mine never turn out like the pictures :)
ReplyDeleteOk, so I wanted gold designs on my pumpkins last year. I got gold Sharpies to draw on them... And it did NOT work! The wax-y-ness of the pumpkin skin was a fail with the metallic Sharpie. So I'd go with an acrylic paint, or spray paint. I feel like I'd totally botch a pumpkin with a can of spray paint, though, don't you?!
Deletei am zero crafty, and not a huge fan of fall - boo me, i know. we dont really have all the things the US does, but I love looking at them! girl, i am always trolling pinterest lol
ReplyDeleteI feel like the US does indeed go overboard on the holiday decorations/materialistic stuff. Shocker, right?! But hell, I'm an American, and this shizz is fun, so I'm on the bandwagon!
DeleteI really like that white wreath. Very snazzy.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was cute and unique, too!
DeleteI love all of the fall decor! I really want to do it up right this year, fall is my favorite season! TJ Maxx had some GREAT stuff for a good deal last week when I was there. I think I am going to go back this weekend and get some! Give me all the glitter pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, yeah! I should go check out Home Goods. Excellent idea! They always have great deals.
DeleteI love that wreath for the door! Cute fall stuff for the house!
ReplyDeleteThanks Emily! We'll see how cute my crafts actually turn out... :)
DeleteThat wreath is stunning. I get lost on Pinterest sometimes...time slips away and 100 pins later I'm ready to redecorate the house. Haha....
ReplyDeleteI totally understand! Sometimes I'm all up in the women's fashion, seeing stuff and thinking, "Oh, I have something similar! I'll style it that way!" Then I go to my closet and I'm like, "Yeah... No. Not remotely like what I saw. Welp, looks like it'll be a t-shirt and jeans again." But those fashionista thoughts are fun while they last!
DeleteI don't normally decorate for fall but i am thinking about it this year. Those are pretty inspiration pics.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think decorating for fall/Halloween and Christmas are equally fun :)
DeleteI’m opposite…I have more Fall décor than Halloween. But, I love both so much. I love that wreath!!
