"Behind The Scene" Blog Tour

Bonus post this week!

The lovely Miss Kriss at Sneakers and Sequins kindly nominated me for a "behind the scenes" post as part of a blog tour that's been circulating the internets. She's journaling her weight loss journey, so if you haven't checked her out, I surely would! Her honesty and transparency is refreshing.

How the blog tour works:
- Acknowledge the blogger/blog that invited you to the Tour.
- Answer some questions about your blogging process
- Choose 3 bloggers to plug

Here are the questions the blog tour asks:

1. What am I working on?
My sanity. Ha! Nah, now that I have my correct social media icons coded and published to my site, I'm sane. Until tomorrow, that is.

2. How does my work differ from others of its type/genre?
I think I have a niche in the "humorous and honesty" camp. So many other "mommy blogs" are either "it's all sunshine and roses and my life is beautiful!" or they swing hard the other way and make motherhood look like a nightmare. I tell it like it is. Some of it is sunshine and roses! 20 minutes later, it's a nightmare covered in spit up.

3. Why do I write what I do?
I write what I know! I had no intention of being a "mommy blog" but as it would turn out, that's my life right now. Hopefully there's enough other content or I'm amusing enough to draw in other readers, too. I think in order to be a good blogger, you need to have an authentic voice. Which is why I don't beauty blog (pssshhhh! I rarely wear makeup!) or give travel tips (drink wine to make a long flight tolerable?) because that wouldn't be who I truly am or what I'm about.

4. How does my writing process work?
I basically have diarrhea of the mouth key board, then go back and edit it down. I like to get all my thoughts on the screen and then re-read a post a few hours later and take out excess, or TMI aspects. The ideas behind my posts are simply what's going on in my life at that moment, or what I'm thinking/feeling.

Here are my chosen three:
Jess @ House of Hupfs
Ashley @ Living In The (Mom)ent
Jaelan @ Making Mrs. M

  1. Thanks so much for the nomination, Paige! How fun! I love reading about why others do what they do and how they manage it!

    1. Girl, you're my best commenter! These things are silly but fun, and it always feels good to get recognition from your fellow bloggers :)

  2. Love this post!! Thank you for the kind words!!
