Dirty 30 Girls Weekend Recap

Last Wednesday, I posted about how I was about to embark on my first trip post-Henry, visiting some of my favorite girls with an east coast beach trip. I managed to get into Washington D.C. without any travel debacles! A group of us spent the night at our friend Camille's D.C apartment, then Friday morning, we headed up the cost to a little spot known as Dewey Beach.

Any of you on the east coast possibily have heard of this place.

It's a bizarre collection of beach bars where you're just as likely  to strike up a conversation with a 50 year old who's struggling to stand straight as you are to take a shot with a 22 year old to is ready to PARTY.

Our first night we went to Bottle and Cork to see an 80's cover band called The Legwarmers. Clearly, we had to dress up for this event:

80's night! And by 80's, we mean neon.

This was shortly before the bike-cab... As you can see, it's time to go home!

The highlight of my Friday night was when Camille, Gina and myself hopped in a bike-cab, and Cam proceeded to point and laugh at everyone walking home after bar close while our poor driver biker struggled to pedal an over-loaded cab. But it was indeed hilarious. Sorry, cabbie.

Saturday was a bit of a struggle for most, but Gina and I managed to get some beach time in!

Saturday evening featured meals of epic proportions. Now, I hate the over-used word epic. But y'all... This was some serious chow!

This is a bacon-fried egg-cheeseburger on two grilled cheese sandwiches. I'm not friends with wussy salad eaters, y'all.

Because the burgers at 5pm weren't enough, we ordered (and ate) an entire skillet of brisket nachos. Yup.

Then we headed out to the bars. I kept it very tame and was back in the hotel by 11pm, since I knew we had a drive and I had a flight to catch the next day 48 hours later. But a few of the girls went out and tore it up until bar close. Ahhhh, being 30 never felt so young!

* If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen some tweets about my struggle with American Airlines. I'm posting tomorrow with details regarding the problem, not to bash them (although I'd seriously love to), but to warn other travelers of their extreme customer service issues.

Drinkin' dranks!

Murica!
And finally, the beautiful reason we all got together, and the reason we're all friends: it was Miss Ambular's 30th Birthday!

Until next time ladies... Go hard in the paint.

  1. How FUN! I'm so glad you had a fabulous time. Sorry AA was so terrible. Yikes. I've never had an issue with them, but I think I prefer flying Delta.

  7. What an awesome time. Those burgers are epic, seriously how did you logistically eat it?? haha I mean don't get me wrong I could finish it because it looks delicious but I'd be that person you tries to take a giant bite and ends up chewing with her mouth full and burger grease down her dress. You should see me try to eat sushi like a lady.
