High Five for {Christmas Spirit} Friday

I'm breaking down... And decorating for Christmas this weekend. Go ahead, judge me.

Hubs pulled all the boxes of goodies down from the rafters in the garage and they're just lining the hallway, taking up space. Clearly, I have no other option than to decorate, right? Right.

In light of that, here is my Top Five reasons I love the holiday season... Even if it's a bit on the early side:

1) Christmas crafts! Now, I love doing fun artsy things. I love it even more when I do it with friends. Check out my friend Meghan's Etsy shop! This lady has serious talent and puts my crafting to shame. Also awesome? I finally talked her into starting her own blog so that she can share her amazing ideas with you all. Check her out at MaybeMeghan!

2)Three words: Christmas. Tree. Decorating.

3) Christmas cookies! I don't really like to eat them (but I'll take that bowl of queso with a mountain of chips, thanks) but I do love the way they smell baking and all the sparkly sugar crystals and colorful frosting decorations are fun to look at.

4) Sweaters! Even though we live in a Southern border state, it still manages to get chilly here in Texas. For about three months out of the year, I get to pull out fuzzy sweaters, tights, leggings and boots. You know, what 90% of my wardrobe was when we lived in Minneapolis! I love fuzzy sweater time.

5) Fancy holiday coffee drinks! Is there anything better than a latte to warm you on a cold day? Nope! The only bummer is the price tag of those drinks... I hope everyone has as much fun this weekend as I plan on having as we decorate the house for Christmas!

    1. I just mess up about half of any crafts I get around to, haha! But the tree always seems to come out beautifully :)

  2. You're officially made my mouth water haha all that stuff sounds so tasty...flavoured coffees and cookies, yum. I'm tempted to put up our tree this weekend too and just make it feel like Christmas in our house. Is it too early to start listening to Mariah Carey's Christmas album??

    1. Oh girl, I had "All I Want for Christmas" blasting in my car earlier this week! Crank those tunes and get that tree up!

  3. I get so "bent out of shape" excited about colder weather clothes. It was 33 degrees this morning so I popped my blanket scarf over a chambray shirt and I feel like a million bucks.
Also, I may or may not be listening to holiday music via Pandora. No shame.

    1. It's 30 up here and I'm bundled in my husband's sweats! So, errrrrr, I currently don't look/feel like a million, but maybe later today I will! No shame in your pandora game. No shame.

  4. Yes to all of these!! I'm so excited to decorate the tree this year - we have a few ornaments that we picked up on our honeymoon and travels this year so it'll be fun to get them out! Hope you have a great weekend!

    1. Ohhhh, we do sentimental/travel ornaments too! That's the best part of decorating the tree - pulling all those out and reliving the memories!

  5. Those cookies look awesome! And super easy. I'm going to pin that recipe! I'm not a fan of eating them either... But, if they are cute - one wouldn't hurt, as long as it was paired with a fancy holiday coffee.. right?

    1. Haha! You could do like my husband and dunk the cookie in the coffee... Win-win there!

  6. It is 26 degrees here this morning. Definitely unseasonably cold even for Seattle.
I may or may not have started listening to Christmas music yesterday. Allegedly. And I will never judge someone for decorating in November. Never. :)

  7. Have fun decorating! No judgment here.. We always put up the tree on Thanksgiving evening or the day after. I'm so glad it's finally cold! We lit a fire last night and it was awesome!

  9. I love Christmas and think the earlier the better. I actually prefer to jump right over Thanksgiving it's like Christmas without presents but that isn't usually too popular of an idea with most ;)

    1. Hahah! And you have that new house to decorate, too! That's a shame. Hubs needs to get on board with the holiday spirit and stop being such a scrooge!
